It’s 2018 and this year is going to be great. You’ve written your new years resolutions and are determined to keep them, but what about your best friend? Here’s 8 easy goals for you and your pet!
#1 PLAY DATES
Does your dog have a best friend? Even another dog he or she likes to play with! Set up a date for the two of them to play. Your dog will love you for it and happy dog = happy owner 🙂
#2 LONG WALKS
Walk a little further! Exercise is good for you and your best friend. You’re already outside so go the extra mile 🙂
#3 BRUSH THEIR TEETH
Make sure you use PET toothpaste! Use a flavoured one and your dog may actually enjoy it having their teeth cleaned.
#4 GO SOMEWHERE NEW
If you walk the same route every time with your dog or visit the same parks it’s time to go somewhere new! Just like humans dogs like variety. New smells will have your dog in heaven! Look up dog friendly places in your city and take your best friend.
5# PAW PROTECTION
Check your dogs paws regularly for pad damage. During winter salt, ice and snow can result in damaged pads which can be painful your pup! Get your pup some boots or paw protector and always clean their paws when they come inside!
#6 CLEAN TOYS
Slobber, dust and dirt are all over your dogs toys!!! They might look clean but trust us, they aren’t. Firstly go through all your dogs toys and throw out any that are choking hazards – ones with holes and bits hanging off them. If you are unsure how to clean them do some quick internet research. Some toys you can put through your dishwasher with out detergent to clean, the heat will kill germs.
#7 UPDATE TAGS
Something that is often overlooked when you change addresses or phone numbers during the year is updating your pets ID tag! Make this a priority!
#8 CANADIAN PET EXPO
Bring your pet to the Canadian Pet Expo!! We’re pet friendly 🙂 The next show is on March 30 – April 1st 2018 at the International Centre in Mississauga!
